Resource Efficient Jaggery Processing (REJP) technology
Resource Efficient Jaggery Processing (REJP) plant is a patented technology solution with the processing capacity of 5 tons sugarcane / day (smallest in this segment). The individual & collective farmers (land holdings ranging from 0.5 acres to 5 acres) with entrepreneurial minds can use REJP technology to manufacture premium quality assured chemical-free and hygienic jaggery.
The REJP plant is a turnkey solution for the customer. The customer needs to do civil work to construct a shed of 2000 sq. ft.. All other aspects including training and packaging are provided in the solution. In particular, the offering includes
Resource Efficient Turmeric Processing (RETP) technology
India is the largest producer of turmeric in the world and amounts to more than 80 % of the world’s produce. It is also the largest exporter of turmeric in the world. The traditional practice of the turmeric process involves harvesting, washing, curing (steam cooking or boiling) and drying on the farm. The dried turmeric is supplied to market. In order to make turmeric powder, the plant level process for dried turmeric involved polishing, grinding, sieving and packaging.
The traditional farm level process is labor and time-intensive operation (15-21 days). It is very difficult to maintain hygiene and consistent quality in the farm level processing. There are challenges to retaining curcumin in the traditional process due to long drying periods and curing at boiling temperature in farm level practice. We are using a novel process to combine the farm level and plant level practices under one roof and deliver turmeric powder in 2 days. The process involves washing, slicing, turmeric curing in vacuum and drying. The process plant is well designed to facilitate hygienic and resource efficient operation.
Resource Efficient Hybrid Dryer (REHD) technology
Resource Efficient Hybrid Dryer (REHD) technology is a patented technology using combination direct solar radiation and configuration of cabinet dryer mainly drying for fruits and vegetables. The rated capacity of dryer is 40-60 kg moisture evaporation / day (24 hr). However, the drying time for the vegetable generally depends on initial moisture, final moisture, moisture release characteristic of drying material, solar radiation level and ambient conditions.
REHD technology operates on combination heat received from solar radiation and hot air generated from biomass / farm residue heat source. The heat released form the biomass combustion is supplied to a working fluid; the working fluid is passed through a hot air generating heat exchanger to generate hot air at 55-75 °C. The hot air is passed through draying cabinet to dry vegetable/fruits placed in the drying trays. The footprint required for the drying cabinet is 32 sq. ft. (8 ft x 4 ft) and it will be installed in 150 sq. ft. shed (15 ft x 10 ft). The plant connected load 0.4 kW single phase mainly for air movement and working fluid circulation.
